Charter Firmware Update Kills SB6120 Cable Modems

A recent Charter cable firmware update bricks some Motorola Surfboard SB6120 cable modems!

After Charter pushes new firmware update, many customers report that their Motorola Surfboard SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems refused to accept a IP address. Resetting or rebooting the modem would not fix the problem, and Charter’s solution was to replace the modem.

Amazon.com even halted sales of the popular Motorola SB6120 modems for several days until Charter resolved it’s problems.
