AT&T Launches Text Campaign for Flint’s Children

Help Flint Children

AT&T will launch a text-to-give campaign that will go towards benefiting local children that are affected by the Flint water crisis.

For some time, it appeared like the children had been forgotten but this new initiative gives them renewed hope. It is a timely gesture by Flint that will be welcomed with both hands by the affected families.

Donations collected during the giving campaign will support the Flint Child Health and Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, devoted to promoting positive health outcomes for Flint’s kids.

Commenting on the campaign initiative, Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley said it is the generosity of the local community that carries the day in the whole thing. “The generosity of Michiganders during the Flint water crisis has been a testament to the character of families in this community and across the state,” he said in a press statement. “Now, thanks to AT&T, helping Flint’s children is as simple as sending a text message.”

Wireless customers who wish to provide financial support to children affected by the public health crisis can text-to-donate to relief efforts in 2 simple steps; text FLINT to 27722 to make a $10 donation to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund and when prompted reply to confirm the donation. Kathi Horton, president of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint said the new initiative is a welcome gesture and they are happy with what AT&T has done.

“We are grateful for the generosity of AT&T for their ongoing support of children and families affected by Flint’s water crisis. AT&T’s continued support for the long-term needs of Flint’s children will make a real difference in kids’ lives.” In late January, AT&T contributed $50,000 to support efforts of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and its Flint Child Health and Development Fund.
