Scholarship Program
Apart from offering reliable and affordable telecommunication services, Bright House Networks is looking to have an even greater impact in the education sector.
This is through the Bright House Networks 2016 Future Leaders Scholarship program which has been opened for qualified students. The deadline for registration is April 8 and it has attracted many applicants. This is the first time that a telecommunication company is engaging in such a noble initiative especially touching on education.
The technology scholarship program is designed to recognize high school seniors in good standing in Bright House Networks service areas for their contributions to their schools and local communities. Bright House Future Leaders will be named based on community service activities, leadership skills and an essay describing the importance of leadership and community service.
Recipients will be awarded a computer laptop, software and carrying case. “All applications must be completed and postmarked by March 31, 2016 and received no later than April 8, 2016. Application forms are available online at brighthouse.com/futureleaders,” a statement from the company to prospective applicants said.
The program has very strict conditions to be met by all applicants before their applications are accepted. One must attend a high school in the Bright House Networks service area as a senior in good standing, must have a minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA), must demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences and must demonstrate a strong commitment to community service involvement.
“In addition to the completed application form, applicants must include a typed, minimum 500 word essay describing the importance of leadership and community service,” the statement added. Bright House is keen to mold future leaders through the program which is a common trend among many multinational companies in America. From the program, they can even get future heads of their many departments.
