Comcast Cable has appointed Jackie Gadsden as the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for their Greater Boston Region.
Instructively, Gadsden will be responsible for planning and executing diversity as well as inclusion efforts across the region’s footprint. It consists of approximately 5,000 employees and 1.9 million customers across eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
Gadsden will focus on Comcast’s goal to become the leading company for diversity and inclusion within the industry. She will also serve as a resource to develop and recommend strategies to attract, promote and retain a diverse workforce.
Tracy Pitcher, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Greater Boston Region said they will be keen to get the best out of her exemplary leadership skills. “Jackie’s leadership skills combined with her proven track record of creating opportunities for diverse employees and building partnerships with professional networks will help us achieve and surpass our diversity goals,” Pitcher said in a press statement.
“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new position, and we’re thrilled that she will be part of our team.” On her part, Gadsden said she is ready for the task. “I look forward to building a more diverse, inclusive, and engaged workforce backed by a variety of initiatives to select, develop, and promote diverse candidates. I will also collaborate with all departments from marketing to human resources to ensure that diversity and inclusion is part of every business plan to reflect the needs of the diverse communities we serve.”
Gadsden brings more than 20 years of experience to her role. She previously served as Vice President of Retail Stores for Comcast’s Greater Boston Region, where she led a frontline workforce at Xfinity Stores and Comcast Service Centers at dozens of locations. Before holding that position, she served in a variety of customer service leadership positions at Comcast and its predecessor companies.
