Sridhar Solur Comcast Cable
Comcast Cable has announced the appointment of Sridhar Solur as the Senior Vice President Product Development for Xfinity Home and Internet of Things (IoT) for Comcast Cable.
In this role, Solur will lead product development for the Xfinity Home business, which includes devices and services in the IoT, home automation, and home security categories. In a press release, Chris Satchell, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, Comcast Cable said they are looking forward to having Solur have a quick impact at the company.
“Home automation, IoT, and home security are increasingly important product categories for Comcast. Sridhar’s extensive experience in the fast-evolving, high-growth business of connected devices will be a strong addition to the Comcast team,” Satchell noted. “We look forward to leveraging his knowledge and vision as we explore emerging technologies to ultimately create the best experience for our customers.”
Solur will be reporting directly to Satchell as part of the Product Leadership Team for Comcast Cable. He will further partner closely with other top managers at the company with an aim of forming the best leadership team in the industry. Daniel Herscovici, Senior Vice President and General Manager Xfinity Home welcomed him to the new position and promised to give him the best space to deliver. “Sri will add a valuable perspective to our product development work and be a terrific partner as we continue to grow our home security and automation business.”
Solur is an intrapreneur, technologist, and business leader specializing in IoT and mobile. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate venturing, strategy, and product development. Solur joins Comcast from Hewlett Packard (HP), where he was the founder and GM of the company’s wearables and IoT business, as well as the founder and World Wide director of HP’s cloud and mobile printing business, known as HP ePrint.
