XO Communications has collaborated with BAE Systems and Fortinet to offer a managed security bundle for businesses using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect service.
In a statement released on September 29, XO said the new AWS Direct Connect-enabled managed security bundle enables its customers to procure high-speed connectivity to the AWS Cloud with industry-leading firewall technology and managed security from a single provider.
As such, IT professionals can conserve precious business resources rather than monitoring their AWS Direct Connect security themselves. XO integrates firewall technology from Fortinet and highly-respected managed security services from BAE Systems into the XO MPLS network for customers accessing AWS Direct Connect that sign up for the managed security bundle.
Fortinet is a global leader of cyber security solutions and BAE Systems is a leading managed security services provider. Jake Heinz, the senior vice president of marketing and product at XO Communications said their partnership is a meeting of two like-minded companies with a bright future. Heinz was optimistic that XO will get value in return.
“Our new managed security bundle for AWS Direct Connect is an integral element of our network-enabled cloud strategy helping businesses to effectively and efficiently leverage both public and private cloud services to maximize their business productivity,” Heinz said in a statement. “In today’s environment where data security is a top priority, businesses can effortlessly leverage services designed for a higher level of security for their AWS cloud data accessed through the XO network.”
Chad Whalen, the vice president of cloud services at Fortinet said they remain committed to their strategic partners and expanding Fortinet development and collaborative initiatives on AWS. “Uniting with key Fortinet partners like XO and BAE to support this AWS Direct Connect managed security bundle enhances the customer experience with high speed connectivity to the AWS Cloud, leading Fortinet firewall technology and managed security from a single provider.”
